What this gives you

From first sketch to maintenance — one partner who handles everything in-house.

01

One partner, from A to Z

You call one number. We measure, design, produce, install and maintain. No fragmented responsibility, no waiting on subcontractors pointing at each other.

02

You see it before it exists

A 3D visualisation of your own façade or space, by day and by night. We only start producing once that image is right. No surprises afterwards.

03

In-house production in Olen

Custom work from our own workshops, without intermediaries. That means a shorter lead time, a sharper price, and changes that are genuinely still possible.

04

Built to last

ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Colourfast, weather-resistant materials and energy-efficient LED lighting. With long-term service and maintenance.

Background

Flags and masts: 190 years of experience is in the details

Herva-Doublet is part of the Doublet Group, which has been making flags for governments across Europe for more than 190 years. You do not notice that experience in the brochure but in the details: the right order of colours, the correct proportions, and fabric that survives a season outdoors without fraying.

A flag looks like a simple product. It is — until it has to be protocol-correct or last a winter beside a regional road.

For government and protocol

We supply national, provincial and municipal flags, European flags, protocol flags and table flags, together with the poles, façade brackets — écussons — and bases that go with them.

In protocol the execution counts: the order of the colours, the ratio of height to width, and the position of the coat of arms. A flag that deviates on those points is noticed by precisely the audience that looks for it.

For businesses and events

Beach flags

In teardrop, feather or sharkfin shape. Each profile behaves differently in wind and looks different when there is none; the shape is therefore a choice, not a detail.

Event flags and drop flags

Event flags for outdoors, drop flags for indoors and out. Quick to install, and the most common way to make a route or a site recognisable.

XXL flags and car flags

XXL flags when you have to be seen from a distance. Car flags for convoys, race support and vehicle fleets.

Telescopic masts

Extendable and deployable anywhere, with no fixed foundation. The solution for anyone who needs the same set-up at changing locations.

For façades and streets

Stainless steel banner masts, façade banners, façade masts, soltis masts, street banners for lighting columns and oriflammes.

For towns and municipalities, street banners on lighting columns are the most visible communication channel they own: they reach everyone who passes, with no screen and no subscription. The fixing to the column and the wind load determine what is possible here.

Festive decoration

Garlands, bunting and festive streamers, for funfairs, annual markets, village festivals and street decoration.

This is consumable material with a short deployment and a long time in storage. We advise on versions that can face another season after being packed away.

What determines the price?

With flags the fabric weighs most. A light polyester for a festival weekend and a heavy, through-dyed cloth for a permanent mast are two different products, even though the image looks the same.

Then come size, finishing — hemming, rope, carabiners, reinforced corners — and the printing method. Through-dyed, where the colour comes through on both sides, differs from single-sided printing with a translucent mirror image on the back.

And then there is the mast, which often costs more than the flag: height, material, foundation, and whether it needs to be tilting so the flag can be changed without a lift. That last question is too often forgotten and comes back later.

Prices are available in the Herva-Doublet Platform.

Flags are a consumable

Flags wear out. That is not a fault but a property: they hang in the wind, and the wind always wins. The only question is how long you want that to take.

We advise on fabric quality according to how long the flag has to last and how exposed the location is. For a permanent mast beside a regional road you choose a different quality from a flag that hangs for three days at a festival. Reverse the two and you either overpay or replace too often.

Ask our advice before you order

Tell us where the flag will go, how long it has to last and whether protocol requirements apply. With those three facts we will propose the right fabric, the right size and the right mast.

Frequently asked questions
